Since its humble beginnings in 1954, Gao Ji Food (S) Pte Ltd has undergone a transformational journey from a zinc-and-mobile kiosk to become a renowned heritage brand that has garnered a strong following of customers from all walks of life.

With its strong passion to innovate and develop new offerings so that customers can enjoy a greater variety of good food, Gao Ji Food possesses a strong foothold in Singapore’s Food & Beverage industry with over 70 food stall chain outlets and restaurants island-wide, consisting of a bevy of the following gourmet brands under the Gao Ji Food Umbrella:

Mr. Chong Seng Tong, founder of “Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee”, and his wife sold their speciality Hakka Yong Tow Foo in Chinatown.

As a Hakka with a passion for Yong Tow Foo, Mr. Chong Yik Hwee started learning the knowledge and skills of the Yong Tow Foo trade from the tender age of 12.

The first flagship Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee stall was set up in People’s Park Food Centre in Chinatown.

Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee gained recognition as a local Singapore delight. Riding on the publicity from newspaper and magazine publications, Koo Kee Yong Tow Foo Mee became a famous local brand, drawing crowds from near and far.

With his enterprising spirit and hard work, Mr. Chong Yik Hwee set up Gao Ji Food (S) Pte Ltd and its Central Kitchen.

Gao Ji Food won the Singapore Prestige Brand Award – Heritage Brands Category for the 1st time and clinched the Most Popular Heritage Brand in Year 2013.

In commemoration of Gao Ji Food’s 60th anniversary, it was a double celebration as Gao Ji Food made its first overseas foray and entered the China market. This set the foundation for Gao Ji Food to achieve its vision of becoming a trusted global F&B corporation.

Gao Ji Food also won the Singapore Prestige Brand Award – Heritage Brands Category for the 2nd year in a row.

Gao Ji Food won the Singapore Prestige Brand Award – Heritage Brands Award for the 3rd and 4th consecutive time. Gao Ji Food also won the Most Popular Heritage Brand in Year 2016.

Besides winning the Singapore Prestige Brand Award – Gao Ji Food also won the Most Popular Brand Award 2017 and for the 5th consecutive year, being inducted into the SPBA Hall of Fame.
Gao Ji Food’s Central Kitchen also attained ISO 22000:2005 Certification.

Locally, Gao Ji Food has a bevy of 9 gourmet brands with over 40 food stall chain outlets islandwide & 4 restaurants consisting of Gao Peng Cuisine and House of Roasted Duck.

Riding on the success of Singapore Koo Kee Restaurant in Beijing, Gao Ji Food is actively driving further expansion within the China market with the grand opening of the 2nd flagship Singapore Koo Kee Restaurant at Pacific Century Place in July and the 3rd flagship Singapore Koo Kee Restaurant in the Dong Cheng District in September.

This year also marks Gao Ji Food’s first foray into South-East Asia, starting off with Indonesia first due to its brimming business potential.
